Cavity Wall Insulation Explained

Cavity Wall Insulation Explained

Tameside Insulation use InstaFibre White Wool to insulate the wall cavity's of their customers houses.

The energy consumed in heating homes, offices and factories accounts for the major proportion of all the nation's energy production. In a typical building, 35% of all the heat is lost through the walls.

The need for a means of cutting this energy loss was met by InstaGroup, who have been providing cavity wall and roof insulation for the construction industry and the domestic market for many years.

As opposed to many existing cavity wall insulation materials, which contain a high percentage of reworked products from other insulation manufacturing processes, InstaFibre White Wool is a new generation product specifically manufactured for cavity wall insulation.

Carefully monitored during manufacture and installation, InstaFibre White Wool is purpose-made for cavity wall insulation and meets the stringent requirements of the latest Building Regulations.

With no chemicals, binders or moisture added during installation, InstaFibre White Wool is the most cost-effective and ozone-friendly way to save energy.

InstaFibre White Wool is also guaranteed for 25 years by the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA), the government endorsed guarantee scheme.

Using a system developed by InstaGroup for its consistency and reliability, InstaFibre White Wool is installed in to the cavity. The patented machines are designed to ensure that the insulation is installed to a consistent density, this being the single most important factor in the performance of any cavity wall insulation material.

The Installation Process

Cavity Wall Installation Process

Following a survey to establish the suitability of your property for insulation, our fully trained professional installers drill a series of small (26mm) holes. The material is blown into the wall under pressure and is sufficiently free-flowing to ensure complete filling of the cavity.

The flow is automatically cut when the cavity is filled to the required density. Special attention is paid to airbricks and combustion flues which may require sleeving during installation. The injection holes are then made good with matching mortar and the site is left clean and tidy.
